Project Description: In 1958, The Middleboro Housing Authority
– MHA – constructed the first elderly housing development in
Middleborough. This development is known as Namasket Apartments. The
Nemasket-1 development is located between Frank, Park, and Sproat
Street and Nemasket-2 is located on Maddigan Way. Nemasket -2
Apartments, the location of this CPA project, consists of fifty (50)
ground-level one-bedroom units. The portion of our FY24 Nemasket
Apartments Roof Project to be funded with this Community Preservation
grant will entail removing the existing roof shingles on buildings 21
& 25 Maddigan Way and replacing them with 50-year architectural roof
shingles. The roof shingles on these buildings are at the end of their
useful lifespan and it has been determined that the roof shingles
should be replaced. We have had leaks in several buildings and are
making temporary fixes until we have sufficient funding to re-shingle
